The Nuneaton News, formerly the ''Evening News'' and the ''Heartland Evening News'' is a part paid for, part free newspaper serving Nuneaton, North Warwickshire, Hinckley and surrounding areas. Based in Nuneaton, Warwickshire, it is paid for Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday, whilst the Wednesday edition is delivered free in the area. ==Founding== The paper was founded in 1992, following the decision of the new owners of the ''Nuneaton Evening Tribune'' to switch publication to a weekly freesheet and to create a Nuneaton edition of the Coventry Telegraph. The switch to weekly publication led to a downsizing of staff - some of which went on to found a new paper. The paper (at the time published by Nuneaton and District Newspapers Ltd) was the smallest independent newspaper in the country.
